At the South African Marine Rehabilitation and Education Centre,
we look after any injured, tired, oiled stranded marine bird life.

What can you do?
- Do NOT return the bird to the sea
- Please keep dogs away and please do not crowd the bird
- Do NOT feed or give water
- If possible, please wait for help to arrive
Our main aim is to rescue and rehabilitate sick and injured seabirds, particularly the critically endangered African Penguin. We invite you to tour our centre and explore the displays in our Discovery Room where you will experience nature through sight, sound and touch.
Visitors can see our volunteers in action helping to care for our patients and 17 permanent residents.
